Breakthrough in the Packaging and Printing Industries — RosUpack and Printech to Present 400+ New Market Players Showing an Increase Vs. Pre-Pandemic Figures

From 6 to 9 June 2023, Crocus Expo Centre will host 27th International Exhibition of the Packaging Industry RosUpack and the 8th International Exhibition of Equipment, Technologies and Materials for the Printing and Advertising Industries Printech.

740+ companies are expected to participate in the exhibitions, more than half of those — for the first time. RosUpack and Printech 2023 will present to the Russian packaging market hundreds of new brands capable of replacing the Western equivalents. The exhibitions are organized by the ITE Group of Companies, the leading Russian player in the conference/exhibition organization sector.

RosUpak и Printech are the largest exhibitions of packaging and printing industries in the Eurasian space. This year, professionals from all regions of Russia and the CIS countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, etc. are expected to visit the exhibitions.

740+ companies from 19 countries will take part in RosUpack and Printech 2023. Russian manufacturers from 20+ constituent entities of the Russian Federation will present domestic packaging equipment, raw and other materials, warehouse equipment, labels and ready packaging. A third of the exhibition participants are represented by foreign companies, including those from Belarus, Italy, India, Kazakhstan, China, the United Arab Emirates, Turkiye, Uzbekistan, etc. China and Turkiye will have the largest presence at the exhibition — 200+ companies in all 9 sections, including such major manufacturers as HUNAN ZHIJIAN COPIER REMANUFACTURING, J.S. For the first time, the scope of RosUpack will be expanded by introduction of equipment and materials for the pulp and paper industry. The exposition will complement Raw Stock and Materials, one of the largest sections of RosUpack. The “League of Waste Paper Recyclers” Association of Self-Regulating Organizations acts as the partner for the pulp and paper industry exposition and the exhibition in general. The partner will also co-organize the Plant Polymers Are the New Oil industry conference, where on the 7th and 8th of June RosUpack for the first time will bring up such important issues as energy efficiency and eco-technologies for the pulp and paper industry, and creating and managing a green economy on the example of the pulp and paper industry. The Plant Polymers Are the New Oil industry conference will discuss such subjects as:

• Anti-crisis development of the pulp and paper industry — change management, forecasts and solutions
• The industry prospects in the new reality: global climatic and economic changes, internal and external market trends, institutional changes
• The role of financial and state institutions, tools and support measures

The first day will see the expert analytics session “Impact of Economical and Political Factors on the Russian Packaging Industry”, as well as plenary sessions dedicated to the state of the paper, cardboard, corrugated board and polymer packaging market.

The second day will be dedicated to the issues of the packaging industry sustainability, extended manufacturer responsibility (EMR), and the issues of waste recycling. For the first time the exhibition will feature the Extended Manufacturer Responsibility Reform discussion. At this event, the experts will answer questions on the transfer of EMR from goods manufacturers to packaging manufacturers, and explain the specifics of application of the new EMR mechanism to importers.

The third day will be of special interest to FMCG manufacturers. At the Product Development, Marketing and Branding in the New Environment Created by Exit of Major Brands — One Year Later expert session, the experts will describe the main consumer preferences at the packaging market, present current trends and innovations in packaging design and functions, and use specific cases to analyse successful and poor packaging solutions for brands. The second session is dedicated to E-COM era packaging. The key speakers will tell the audience about the current status and development prospects of the e-commerce market in Russia, the requirements for packaging solutions set by major platforms, and packaging design solutions contributing to successful sales at marketplaces.

The first ever Technological and Industrial Cooperation with China: Its Specifics, and Search for Solutions seminar will take place on the fourth day. Anton Lepikhov, Commercial Director of CHIN-RU Russian-Chinese Trading House, will deliver an expert analytics report on interactions with Chinese suppliers. In his speech, the expert will touch upon the main trends on the Russian market in 2023 in the context of international trade and the current sanctions, and share the main sources of information on Chinese products and manufacturers.

PART Award Ceremony

The International PART Award Ceremony will take place on 8 June. The PART Award, an annual international prize in the field of packaging design and production, for 9 years now brings together passionate individuals and professionals who are ready to offer innovative developments in the field of packaging and packaging materials. This year, 60 companies with 129 product samples in 14 categories participated in the PART Award. Among them RUSAL, GOTEK, Fix Price, SMURFIT KAPPA RUS, APOLLO, YuzhUralKarton Factory, and others.

The PART Award stand will be traditionally located in the Exhibition Hall 4 (Pavilion 1) of RosUpack exposition, and everyone will be able to see the contest samples in all their diversity.
